Sunday...
We went to Côte à Côte for dinner...ribs, delicious. The pic is from Amanda's dessert, which I helped her eat. A quick ride up the funiculaire to see the château by night, then back to the hotel.

A beautiful day in Quebec
Woke up to a sunny clear day...yes, cold, but clear. Walked to Baguette & Cie for baked goods and hot beverages. Then through Vieux-Québec for shopping and general milling about. Took the funiculaire up to the Château Frontenac. Got lunch at a creperie, then back to hotel to recuperate! Heavy rich crepes are good, but zapped my energy.
We walked out to the area of town where the parade would go on, and went to a movie while waiting: The Last Quartet. Yea. Meant to see The Quartet, as advertised, but guess that was a case of false advertising. Thank you Movies app. Still, it was good. Waited half an hour after the official start of the parade before floats started showing up. Very fun and energetic, but simply too cold. We left halfway through, caught a cab back to the hotel. Did dinner at the hotel restaurant, delicious!

Rocky start, but worth it so far
Amanda and I had a decent flight from Cleveland to Toronto, left a little late, but hey, no big deal. Right? Not right. By the time we got to the Air Canada counter to get our second boarding passes, our flight to Québec had already left. Fantastique. They booked us on a flight for Saturday and said we could try to get on the 6pm flight tonight as standby passengers. We got food vouchers from United and enjoyed dinner on them. Happily made it on the 6pm flight, and enjoyed a quick taxi ride directly to the hotel. We checked in at the Hotel Port-Royal (super cute room, but the "full kitchen" is a bit of an exaggeration). Tired as we were, the view outside our window was too enticing. We went out for a walk, stopped to get pizza and tarte tatin, then made it back to the hotel to relax a bit before bed.
